The Minnesota Timberwolves were active on Draft day, dealing guard Wendell Moore Jr. and the No. 37 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for the No. 53 pick in the 2024 Draft (traded to Grizzlies).

Timberwolves get:

  • Future second-round pick
  • Cash considerations

Pistons get: 

  • Wendell Moore Jr.
  • Bobi Klintman (No. 37 pick in 2024 Draft)

During Wednesday’s first round of the Draft, the Wolves acquired the rights to Rob Dillingham, the eighth overall pick, from the San Antonio Spurs for a future first-round pick and a first-round pick swap. Dillingham, a capable scorer at Kentucky, is expected to find a spot in Minnesota’s rotation for 2024-25.

Moore was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in 2022 and traded to the Wolves shortly after that. He has played sparingly for Minnesota in his two seasons, averaging three minutes per game in 2023-24 after posting 5.3 mpg as a rookie.
